We announce the death of Thelma Loretta Mitchell of Delaware, Ohio, born in Greenville, Mississippi, who passed away on October 25, 2026, at the age of 91. Thelma will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Young and Agnes Young (Brown); her husband Donald Lattimore Mitchell; and her siblings-in-law, Thomas, Virgil, Robert Mitchell, Charles "Sandy" Crockrell, Eudora, Judith R. Mitchell, Linda Crockrell and Doris Fowler.
She is survived by: her children, Debra Chapman (Jonathan) of Centerville, Dennis Mitchell of Columbus, Gail Mitchell-Cousar of Columbus, Judith L. Mitchell of Delaware and Andrew Mitchell (Tanya) of Delaware; her grandchildren, Donald Chapman (Monique), Derek Chapman, Siobhan Chapman, Kayla Cousar, Anna Mitchell and Kamryn Morgan; her great grandchildren, Ander Lattimore Chapman, Atwood Thomas Chapman, Loretta Katherine Chapman, Sumner Virgil Chapman and Neil Mathias Chapman; and her siblings-in-law, Bill Fowler of Dayton, Snobia Mitchell of Delaware and Shirley Walker of Delaware. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center (101 Valleyside Dr, Delaware, OH 43015). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church (82 E William St, Delaware, OH 43015).
