He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Diltz and Opal Diltz (Carmean); his spouse Shirley Diltz (Hile); his son Justin Diltz; his sisters, Fairy Etta Sterling (George) and Dorothy Kolter (Cross); his children-in-law, Mick Schaffner, Dale Brooks and Marcia Diltz; and his granddaughter Tiffany Bowers.

He is survived by: his children, Vicky Friemoth of Delphos, Karen Schaffner of Delphos, Cheryl Lehmkuhle (Dan) of Delphos, Mark Diltz of Delphos, Randy Diltz of Delphos, Jim Diltz (Diane) of Delphos, Candy Brooks of Delphos, Lyle Diltz of Delphos and Misty Bowers (Brad Slechter) of Delphos. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
