He was predeceased by: his parents, Alphonse Schimmoeller and Dorothy Schimmoeller (Moenter); his wife Ruth A. Schimmoeller; his brothers, Dick, Gary, John and Jim Schimmoeller; and his sister-in-law Sandy Schimmoeller.

He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Tammy Bergfeld (Dave) and Shelly Kayser (Mike); his sisters-in-law, Pam of Delphos and Nadine Schimmoeller of Delphos; his grandchildren, Jamie Grothaus (Randy), Julie Renner (Greg), Eric Bergfeld (Alex Warren), Wes Kayser (Rachel) and Molly Armstrong (Colin); and his great grandchildren, Skyler, Lance, Violet, Cece Grothaus, Colton, Lexi, Olivia and Wade Renner.
