She was predeceased by : her parents, Randall Carpenter and Josephine Carpenter (Whitmire); her brothers, Richard and Robert Carpenter; and her siblings-in-law, Mary Lou Carpenter and Charles Hill.

She is survived by : her husband William "Bill" Pacak; her grandchildren, Tory Savage (Sara), Trista Savage (Logan), Brayden, Madison Savage (Austin), Taylor Posey (Aubrey), Elisabeth Castro (Jacob), Breanna Keesbury, Ethan, Ella, Riley and Tristan Pacak; her siblings, Ronald Carpenter (Carol), Roger Carpenter (Corene), Ray Carpenter (Carol), Janet Hill, Judy Loar (Dennis), Joan Davis (Terry) and Jean Gerhart (Larry); and her great grandchildren, David Savage and Natalie Posey.

It's strongly encouraged for those wishing an expression of sympathy to consider contributions to the family, care of Bill Pacak for a memorial cause in Joyce's name to be decided on by the family.
