We announce the death of Robert Joseph Smithmyer of Delta, Ohio, who passed away on July 22, 2026, at the age of 81. Robert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Smithmyer and Joann Smithmyer (Strausler); his wife Nancy Jane Meyer; and his siblings, Jane Grabowski (Tom), Ann Mossing (Charles "Bud"), William Smithmyer (Mary) and Mary Smithmyer.
He is survived by: his children, Matt Smithmyer (Jana), Dave Smithmyer (Lisa) and Patty Smithmyer-Scott (Cam); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Nichols (Marty), Mike Smithmyer, Emily Solly (John), Will Smithmyer (Naomi), Andrea Spielvogel (Sam) and Nick Smithmyer (Nicole); and his sister Sally Jenkins (Dave). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
