He was predeceased by: his parents, Boyce Hampton and Lydia Pearl Hampton (Watson); his former wife Shirley I. Hampton (Carpenter); his son Steven Lee Hampton; and his brother John W. Hampton.
He is survived by: his friends, Uhrichsville Eagles, New Philadelphia Elks and Uhrichsville Moose; his fiancée Linda West; his daughters, Carol Hampton and Cheryl Peiter (Warren); his adoptive daughters, Cathy Hawkins (Timothy), Sherry Marty (Robert II) and Cindy Hervey; his sister Betty Ruth Hampton Apitz (Will); and his friends, Doug West and Ron Carman. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
