It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris J. Maurer of Dover, Ohio, who passed away on October 28, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Sommers and Elsie Wallick Sommers; her husband John E. Maurer; and her siblings, Judy Penrod and Darrell Sommers.

She is survived by: her children, Jerry Maurer (Susan) of New Philadelphia, Dale Maurer of Dover and Glen Maurer (Vicky) of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Amanda Shanklin (Keith), Kyle Maurer (Jessica), Alison Hawk (Tyler), Matt Maurer (Kristen) and Amy Maurer (Mike Ciereszewski); and her great grandchildren, Addison and Anistyn Maurer. She is also survived by puppies, and many nieces and nephews.
