With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joanne R. Van Alstyne of Dover, Ohio, who passed away on December 12, 2025 at the age of 93. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joanne R. Van Alstyne to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl F. Moser and Valeria Moser (Werner); her husband Walter; her grandson Paul Powell; and her siblings, Verna Mae Vierheller, Valeria "Betty" Rimer and Karl Moser.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia "Cindy" Powell of East Kelly, Diana Dorsey of Dover, Valeria "Jane" Brown (Michael) of Dover and Jody Matics of Navarre; and her grandchildren, James (Kasey), Matthew Powell (Kristina), Chad (Mandy), Katie Dorsey (Richard Bertka), Michael Brown, Lindsay Blackburne (Joel), Abby Kinard (Matthew), Jessica Matics Fisk and Jennifer Wiseman (Thomas). She is also survived by her sixteen great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.
Joanne's family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory be made to Truman House, the Tuscarawas County Humane Society, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, or Mobile Meals of Dover-New Philadelphia.
