He was predeceased by: his parents, Millard Adam and Hester Niver (Geer); and his sister Anne Beyer. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Thelma Niver; his children, Denise Mathias (Mark) of Blissfield, Michigan, Brett Niver of Whitinsville and Nanette Nino of Dover; his grandchildren, Erin Petrella (Jay), Rachel Donegan (Matt), Breanne Mathias, Enrique Nino and Angela Niver; his great grandchildren, Aiden Petrella, Adelyn Donegan and Maxwell Donegan; and his siblings, Martha Clever, Kathy Keyes (Ken) and Lewis Niver (Cora). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
