She was predeceased by: her parents, Patrick William Fahey and Ruth Margaret Sutliff; and her brother William "Buster" Fahey (Virginia "Ginny"). She is survived by: her husband Richard Nettles; her siblings, Anne Frey (William Frey) and Joe Fahey (Jean Fahey); her children, Christine Hiibner (Craig Hiibner), Richard Nettles (Natalie Nettles) and Michael Nettles (Lauren Nettles); her grandchildren, Madelyn Escobedo (Austin Escobedo), Max Miller, Megan Miller, Owen Nettles, Mason Miller, John Nettles, Oliver Nettles and Arya Nettles; and her great grandchild Steven Escobedo.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, in honor of Ellen's memory.
