He was predeceased by : his parents, Charlie Lee and Marian Simmons (Wilson); his spouse Jean Shultz; his son Bill Simmons; and his brother Norman Simmons.
He is survived by : his children, Steve Simmons (Kim) of Marshallville and Lisa Joyce (Michael) of Orrville; his grandchildren, Thomas Joyce (Kayla) of Ashland, Emily Joyce of Orrville, Michael Simmons (Joanna), Megan Mealey (Nick) of Akron, Hannah Jouriles (Nick) of Parma, Dan Simmons of Germany and Andrea Simmons of Germany; his great grandchildren, Avery Simmons, Claire Simmons and Bryce Mealey; his siblings, Lee Simmons (Paula), Verne Simmons (Carol) and Rebecca Robinson (Jim); his daughter-in-law Ellen Simmons; and his sister-in-law Barbro Simmons. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
