He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Heckendorn and Adah Heckendorn. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Dalton Heckendorn; his sons, Daniel Heckendorn (Becky) and Jonathan Heckendorn; his grandchildren, Alex and Thea Rose Heckendorn; and his sisters, Cherry Goszyk and Nancy Tannenbaum (Ron). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
