He is survived by: his fiancée Pam Bisker; his children, Kristen, Nicholas Weeden, Nathan, Katherine Nelson, Kaitlyn Nelson and Brian Cox; his mother-in-law Joan Brandt; his grandchildren, Madison, Lucas, Leo Weeden, Roarke and Emma Nelson; his brothers, Mark (Melissa Nelson), Scott (Karen Nelson), Matt (Robin Nelson) and Michael Brandt; his nieces and nephews, Alexandra Nelson, Kinsey, Cole Scott, Sydnie and Connor Nelson; and his pets, Lila, Izzy, Olive and Nikita. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bird Conservation Fund in Richard's memory, honoring his lifelong love of bird watching.
