He is survived by: his wife Charlotte; his sons, Major Harlan Thompson (Christine) of Colorado, Craig Thompson (Kristi) of Idaho and Nathan Thompson (Joy) of Dundee; his grandchildren, Alex Thompson, Eileen Phillips (Brent), Blake Thompson, Grant Thompson, Adelia Thompson and Elijah Thompson; and his sister Barbara Dunn (Larry) of North Pole, Alaska. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Smith-Varns Funeral Home (115 Andreas Dr NE, Sugarcreek, OH 44681). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
