She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude and Corrine Smitherman, Sr. (Hauser); her husband Willie James Cook; her son Michael Cook; and her siblings, Claude Smitherman, Jr., Kenneth Griffith, Gary Smitherman and Sandra Smitherman.
She is survived by: her children, Terrance Smitherman, Willie J. Cook, Jr., Belinda Cook and Mary Louise Cook; her grandchildren, Ashlee Cook, Tori Croskey, Anthony, Ebony, Elijah and Aden Croskey; her great grandchild Janiya Burnside; her siblings, Cornell Smitherman and Yvette Lopez; and her close friends, Georgetta Motton and Bonita Motton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
