He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Finnegin and Pauline Finnegin (Rogers); and his siblings, Faye (John Stertzbach), Mike Finnegin and James (Sandy Finnegin).
He is survived by: his wife Mary Finnegin (Norton); his children, Kelleen Weber (Greg) of East Canton, John "Jeep" Finnegin Jr. of Amsterdam and Timothy Finnegin (Jennifer) of Canton; and his sister-in-law Rosemary Finnegin of Canton. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
