He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lewis Schmidt and Ollie Schmidt (Eikenberry); and his wife Jo Ann Sweetser. He was also cherished by his daughter, Cynthia (Schmidt) Piano, son-in-law, Richard Piano, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Frank's name can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
