He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayne Dowds and Jessie Dowds (Campbell); his son Daniel Shaffer; and his brothers, Robert and James Dowds.
He is survived by: his wife Vanessa Dowds; his children, Amy Dowds (Kirk), Mike Shaffer (Kristi), Shaun Shaffer and Jenny Goldy (Gregg); and his brother Larry Dowds (Charlotte). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and 2 fur babies.
