He was predeceased by: his parents, Delvain E. Kittle, and Clara B. Kittle, Sr. (Kuszmaul); his son E. T. Michael Kittle; his granddaughter Victoria Shaffer; and his sister Anna Toms.

He is survived by: his children, Scottie Gehring (Jason) of Edgerton and Johnny Kittle, Jr. of Bryan; his stepdaughters, Tabitha Huard (Danny) of Hicksville and Trisha Lane of Bryan; and his siblings, Delvain Kittle, Jr. (Janet) of Bryan, Ruby Schindler (George) of Defiance, Lavon Kittle of Indiana and Alan Kittle (Jamie) of Bryan. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
