He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Edward and Thelma Marie Whitney (Ansley); his spouse Shirley Sue Collins; and his brothers, Richard "Red" Whitney and Junior Whitney.
He is survived by: his daughters, Tamera Schopbach (Gary) of Florence, Arizona, Kathryn Salinas (Eddie) of McAllen, Texas, Lura Shuman (Troy) of Butler, Indiana and Marla Chesler (Adam) of Alexandria, Virginia; and his close friend Regina "Jeanie" Strock of Edgerton.
