James A. Curts Sr. Obituary
We announce the death of James A. Curts Sr. of Edison, Ohio, who passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 90. James A. will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer W. Curts and Edith Curts (Morton); his wife Janice B. Pearl; his grandson Aaron Curts; and his siblings, Richard "Dick" Curts, Barbara "Barb" Bowman, Robert "Bob" Curts and Jeane Curts Moody.
He is survived by: his children, Cynthia "Cindi" Warner (Randy) of Fairborn, Carla Freese (Jeff) of Cleveland and James "Jim" Curts Jr. (Laurie) of Galena; his grandchildren, Mandi (Steve), Breanne (Tim), Coral (Ken), Levi, Joel (Megan), Jill, Jonathan (Erin), Alexandria (Chet), Nathan (Manon), Andrew and Evan; his brother William "Bill" Curts (Loretta) of Mount Gilead; and his close friend Ann Heimlich. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Gilead Friends Church (4863 US-42, Mt Gilead, OH 43338). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org).
