He is survived by: his children, Deanna Montague of Nashville, TN and Archie Bates III of West Port, NY; and his sisters, Delores Brown (Milwaukee), Stella Taylor of Elyria, OH, Bernice Bates of Franklin, TN and Vernell Jordan (Milwaukee).
Viewing was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Carter Funeral Homes (127 W Bridge St, Elyria, OH 44035). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
