He was predeceased by : his parents, Norman Ashwood and Margaret Ashwood; his wife Linda L. Ashwood; and his sister Amy Deal. He is survived by : his sons, Brian Ashwood of Elyria, Matthew Ashwood (Julia) of Columbus and Daniel Ashwood of Fairborn, OH..

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Busch Funeral Home (114 2nd St, Elyria, OH 44035). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 1:00 PM and from 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery (10175 Rawiga Rd, Seville, OH 44273).
