In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Donald had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Donald may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Jeff Schaffer (Chastity) and Jennifer Elek (Brett); and his grandchildren, Emily, Colin and Jessen. He is also survived by one great-grandchild; and many friends and family.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service (323 Middle Ave, Elyria, OH 44035). A burial was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at the Brookdale Cemetery (41600 Oberlin Elyria Rd, Elyria, OH 44035).
