He was predeceased by: his parents, John B. Shepard and Catherine Shepard (Cooney); and his wife Jacqueline Marie Shepard. He is survived by: his children, AnnMarie Shepard (Mark Boyer), Mary Pat Harris (Jim), Donna Arnholtz (Mike), Stephen Shepard (Lisa) and Maureen Shepard. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home (38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd, Elyria, OH 44035). A Mass was held on Saturday, May 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Jude Church (590 Poplar St, Elyria, OH 44035).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Phil's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
