She was predeceased by: her husband Rev. David C. Dunkin; her daughter N. Elisabeth "Ibbie" DeJong; her brother Bert Gastle; and her parents, Robert Gastle and Norma Gastle.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Lou Hoffman (Bill) of Edmond, Oklahoma, David C. Dunkin (Linda) of Lynden and Jonathan R. Dunkin (Marcia) of Elyria, Ohio.. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
In honor of Verna's lifelong commitment to spreading the Gospel, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The Gideons International for the distribution of Bibles in her memory.
