He was predeceased by : his parents, Harry A. Reese and Dorothy Reese (Keenan); his wife Annabelle M. Reese (Horvath); his siblings, Harry, John, Terry, Nancy, Brenda and Amy; his grandchildren, Frank "Dude" Martin and Andrea Joyell Piatt; and his great grandchild Cody Byron Freeman.

He is survived by : his children, Wendell A. "Wink" Reese (Beverly) of Empire, Byron E. Reese (Tisha) of Empire, Deborah Jane Piatt and Iris Ann Martin of Empire; his stepdaughter Carolyn Clark (Jim) of Toronto; his sister Cindy Graham Douglas (Sam) of St. Clairsville; and his children, Jackie Plumbley and John Skeens. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren 24 great grandchildren 8 great-great grandchildren.
