She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Edward and Irene N. James (Dixon); her husband Charles L. Smith; her son Bradley Smith; her son-in-law Bill Petrakos; her siblings, Doyle James (Lucy), Rita Elsner (Richard), Albert and Ronnie James; and her brother-in-law Tom Strausberg.
She is survived by: her children, Chuck Smith (Judy) and Debbie Petrakos; her grandchildren, Stacy Schulte (Jerry), Shannon Taylor (Mark), Jason Petrakos (Megan), Justin Smith (Candi), Dustie Mulford (Jason), Stacia Brown (Jesse), Darby Philabaum (Kent), Whitney Lewis (Jonathan) and Morgan Klosterman (Nolan); and her siblings, Larry James (Aida), Linda Strausberg and Norma Gillespie. She is also survived by 19 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105) in Betty's memory.
