“Although Dick agonized over which measuring cup was the right measuring cup, he never hesitated to give his all to his friends. He always showed up to my door with a bottle of wine I liked or would send 5 lb. bags of Stoker coffee to us because he knew we missed it. When my son was buying a house in Dayton and we couldn’t be there to advise him, Dick volunteered to go with Jack to look at houses. The weekend we came to Dayton to help Jack, our son, paint his house, Dick showed up with tools and”

“I didn’t really get to know Dick until he bought his house here in Florida. Dick entrusted me with decorating his house. Dick’s comfort zone tended to be pretty narrow, where I love color. Dick bravely agreed to stick his toe outside his zone and picked saturated colors for walls and furniture. Granted, a budget was set and strictly adhered to, but finding used goodies became an adventure for us. He ended up loving his little house down here and often said he’s never lived in such a pretty place”
