He was predeceased by : his wife Judy Schlesinger; his parents, Alvin Schlesinger and Elizabeth Schlesinger (Cordes); his sister Virginia "Ginny" Hannan (Jack); and his nephew John Hannan.

He is survived by : his nieces, Cindy Godby (Ron) and Barbie Hannan; his nephew P. J. Hannan (Nancy); and his cousins, Kathy Schmidt (Al) and Betty Lou Rack (late Don). He is also survived by four great nieces, one great nephew and seven great-great nieces and nephews.
