She was predeceased by : her parents, Ralph Matheson and Katherine Matheson (Arnold); her husband Lawrence Taft Friend; and her siblings, Lucille Behlen and Charles W. Matheson.
She is survived by : her children, Katherine Boyde, Eugene Friend (Vanessa), Gary Friend (Kathleen) and Lawrence "Mike" Friend (Betsy); her sister Dorothy Behlen; and her brother-in-law Ronn E. Friend of Columbia, MD. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
