He is survived by: his mother Joann Behr (Stehlin); his sons, Brennan and Bryce Behr; the mother of his children RaLynn Behr; his girlfriend Angela Bean; his girlfriend's child Ingram; and his sister Laura Hiler (Gary Jones Jr.). He is also survived by other loving relatives and friends.

“I went to Badin with Doug and then I lived with him for three years in college. He was a very sweet guy and well-liked. I don't know if other people called him this, but we called him “The Bear.” We had many good times playing hackey sack and disc golf around campus, going on trips to shows. We were roommates and had mutual friends. Doug and I were very close at that time. and I regret we lost touch. I always remember Doug and I think about him often. I wish his family peace in this hard time.”
