He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernst Smith and Ruth Smith (Holstein); and his siblings, Majorie Lamb, Maureen Okruhlica, Joan Puma, William Smith and Gail Reynolds.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Alice Connaughton; his children, Tom Smith (Stephanie) of Columbus, Jeannie Nartker (Bill) of Liberty Township and Doug Smith (Phyllis) of Cincinnati, Ohio; his brother Dan Smith (Marilyn) of Naples, FL; his stepgrandson Aaron Grener (Julie); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Sam, Will and Katherine Grener. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Ann Church (3028 Pleasant Ave, Hamilton, OH 45015). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Fairfield Community Arts Center (411 Wessel Dr, Fairfield, OH 45014). A burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at the St Mary Cemetery (4030 Pleasant Ave, Hamilton, OH 45015).
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to St. Paul Vincent de Paul Society.
