It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Howard Gilmore of Fayette, Ohio, who passed away on March 8, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Gilmore and Shirley Gilmore (Tech); his daughter Renee Gilmore; his brother Ed Gilmore; his sisters-in-law, Tonya Gilmore, Rosie Gilmore, Rosie Jones, Nancy Atwell and Cathy Cantrell; his parents-in-law, Ed and Helen Cantrell; and his brothers-in-law, Ed Cantrell, Larry Cantrell and John Atwell.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his sons, Rick Gilmore (Amanda) of Montpelier and Dan Gilmore (Amanda) of Hudson; his stepsons, Jeff Parkhurst (Tina) of Fayette and Jamie Parkhurst of Morenci, Michigan; his grandchildren, Zachery Hunt, Meagan Gilmore, Margie Grant, Daniel Gilmore Jr., Quentin Gilmore, Lacey Alvarez and Joe Alvarez; his siblings, James Gilmore of Jackson, Michigan, Peg Parr (Ken) of Manchester and Elaine Stegg (Brad) of Adrian, Michigan; his siblings-in-law, Linda Newell (Sam), Jim Cantrell (Elsie) and Dan Cantrell (Rae Jean); and his friend Dan Handy (Rose) of Eden. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
