She was predeceased by: her parents, George Richards and Minnie Richards (Kagy); her husband Roger W. Smith; her son R. C. Ries; her grandson Logan Ries; and her siblings, Allen, Richard, Helen, Rosa, Anna, Martha and Barbara Ann.
She is survived by: her children, Jerry Lewellen (Lori), Maria Keegan (Mark), Charles Ries (Shannon) and Jon Schang (Alisha); her granddaughter Debbie; and her siblings, Terry, Jon, June (Tim) and Beatrice. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Marry Funeral Home - Fayette Chapel (412 W Main St, Fayette, OH 43521). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Waldron Cemetery Church (107 West St, Waldron, MI 49288).
Memorial donations in Susan's memory may be given to Williams County Humane Society.
