He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Bonnie Sue Schmieg; his daughters, Carol Marcum (Jeff), Cathy Sanders (Robert) and Cindy Schriefer; his stepchildren, Amy Roetting, Nancy Bowling and Eddie Jackson; his grandchildren, Julie, Tyler, Jonathan, Robert and Dalon; and his siblings, Douglas Schmieg (Velda), Calvin Schmieg (Elma), Thomas Schmieg (Patty), David Schmieg (Mary Beth) and Anthony Schmieg (Lisa).
