He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon VanTilburg and Grace VanTilburg (Hamilton); and his sisters, Patricia Higgins and Suellen Hicks. He is survived by: his children, Brian Meeks of Bowling Green and Emily Meeks of Bowling Green; his siblings, Michael VanTilburg (Debra Davis) of Findlay and Beth St. Claire of Findlay; his granddaughter Kassie Girdler; and his nieces and nephews, Aimee, Ava, Joshua, Danielle, Paige, Stephanie, Craig, Deneen, Shawn, Jeremy, Amy, Tony, Michelle, Gene, Graham, Shayla and Ryan.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Coldren-Crates Funeral Home (205 W Sandusky St, Findlay, OH 45840). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bridge Home Health and Hospice.
