Gary E. Callihan Obituary
Gary Callihan
October 10, 1949 – July 23, 2025
Gary Callihan was born on October 10, 1949, to Albert and Hazel Callihan and ran into the arms of Jesus on July 23, 2025.
From an early age, his life was defined by strong values, deep faith, and a quiet but steady devotion to the people he loved.
He married Eileen Pickering on February 14, 1970 and they later divorced. He became a father in 1970 with the birth of his daughter, Kimberly. In 1984, Gary met Jane—the love of his life—and in 1986, they were married, completing their family when Amanda became a daughter to him as well. His family then grew with grandchildren and he was very excited about his new great granddaughter that will be arriving this September. His love for his family was unwavering and unconditional, a true reflection of his faith and character.
Gary graduated from Findlay College in 1974 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing. He later earned his MBA from the University of Dayton, and went on to build a successful career at American Trim, where he worked until his retirement.
A faithful servant and man of God, Gary served for many years as an elder at Parkview Christian Church. His leadership, humility, and deep love for the Lord left a lasting legacy within the church and in the lives he touched.
He was also an avid Disney lover—some of his most treasured memories were made at the parks with Jane, their children, grandchildren, and many friends sharing joy, laughter, and the magic of being together.
Gary was deeply loved and will be remembered as a devoted husband, a proud and caring father and grandfather, and a loyal, gentle-hearted friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Hazel Callihan.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Jane Callihan of Findlay, OH; his daughter Kim (John) Schumacher of Fostoria, OH, and their children Benson (Jessica) Schumacher (baby girl due in September) of Findlay, OH, and Addy (Zack) Hannah of Crestview, FL; and his daughter Amanda (Joe) Williams of Perrysburg, OH, and their children Blake Williams (and his children Tori, Addy, and Jaxon) of Naples, FL, James Goodwin of Bellevue, OH, David (Skylar) Goodwin of Maumee, OH, and Clay Williams of Perrysburg, OH.
His legacy of faith, kindness, and family will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
