He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Russell Barnhill and Lucile Barnhill (Steen); his wife Joyce Bowman; his children, Carolyn Barnhill, David Barnhill (Marsha), Susan Donley (Daryl) and Nancy Rook (Ron); his great grandchildren, Cameron David, Kohen Joseph and Micah James Barnhill; and his sister Joan Decker (Lawrence).
