He was predeceased by: his parents, Frances Mickler and John Kovach. He is survived by: his wife Jamie Kovach (Restle); his children, Eric Kovach (Anne) of Nashville, TN and Holly Frische (Matt) of Findlay; his brother Joe Kovach (Rosey) of Canfield, Ohio.; and his grandchildren, Molly, Andrew Frische, Grace, Lucas and Claire Kovach.
In 1984, John came to Findlay to head-up the newly formed Findlay Community Development Foundation.
