She was predeceased by : her father Thomas Shumaker; and her brother Kenneth Shumaker. She is survived by : her daughters, Jessica Sterling of Findlay and Jennifer Rose Rhoads (Jason) of San Antonio; her grandchildren, Sarah Martinez (Rafael), Jakob, Gabriel Rhoads and Elizabeth "Ellie" Ostrander-Sterling; her brothers, Michael Shumaker (Jean) and Steven Shumaker (Pam); and her stepsiblings, Sherri Burkholder (Vernon) and Scotty Clouse (Rosario).

Memorial contributions may be gifted in Julia's honor to the National MS Society.
