He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean Ruehle and Ruth Ruehle (Romig); his former wife Mary Ruehle (Triplett); his wife Shirley Ruehle (Willford); his son Randy Ruehle; and his brother Paul Ruehle.

He is survived by: his children, Rodney Ruehle (Kathy), Rene Herd (William), Taunya Frommer (Jay) and Terry Ruehle (Nancy); his siblings, Richard, Donald, Carl, Virginia, Joyce and Jack; and his sibling-in-law Shirley Stewart. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
