We bid farewell to Stephen Carl Rust of Findlay, Ohio, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 14, 2026 at the age of 73. Stephen touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Harold C. Rust and Anna Heller Rust. He is survived by: his children, Dr. Jennifer Ann Abbås (Douglas) of Kungälv, Sweden, John Carl Rust (Mivvi) of Birmingham, AL and Joel William Rust of Durham, NC.; his grandchildren, Laney, Carly, Billy, Johnny Rust, Henry and Estella Abbås; his wife Joy; his siblings, Theodore Rust (Beverly), Andrew Rust (Jill) and Elizabeth Rust Windisch (Ray); and his uncle Steve. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Stephen's honor may be made to the Alzheimer's Association for research, or to the First Lutheran Church elevator fund.
