He is survived by: his wife Janice Major Kovacs; his daughter Heather Kay Kovacs; and his siblings, Ronald "Bones" Kovacs (Barb Pickering), Joann Barylak (Mike), Janet Applegarth (Wayne) and Christine Patterson (Mike). He is also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.
