He was predeceased by: his brother Dave "Goose"; his sister-in-law Linda Garke; and his parents-in-law, Max and Mary Smith. He is survived by: his parents, Ray Garke and Joan Garke (Hilgeford) of St. Henry; his wife Sherry Garke (Smith); his daughters, Christy Garke (Aaron Ruble) of New Haven and Samantha Heitkamp (Nick) of Maria Stein; his grandchildren, Raelynn, Rhett and Rayce Heitkamp; his sister Sharon Vaughn (Jim) of Fort Recovery; and his in-laws, James Smith of Fort Wayne, Larry Smith (Karen) of East Palestine and Brenda Kaup (Dennis) of Fort Recovery. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
