With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Jean Hackworth of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, who passed away on July 24, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence D. Abernathy and Maggie Abernathy. She is survived by: her husband Delbert "Frank" Hackworth of Franklin Furnace; her sons, Tim Hackworth (Lisa) of Albany, Ohio, Gary Hackworth (Heather) of Greenup and David Hackworth (Rita) of Covington, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Brittany Thompson (Tyler), Cassidy Hackworth, Brooklyn Hackworth and Alex Hackworth; her great grandchild Baileyand Emmit; and her brother Dale Abernathy (Phyllis) of Lexington, Kentucky..
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home (11623 Gallia Pike, Wheelersburg, OH 45694).
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice, in memory of Shirley.
