He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Otis and Fay Carpenter (Swallow); and his daughter Michelle Martin. He is survived by: his wife Lisa Quillen Carpenter; his daughter Angela Carter; his grandchildren, Alyssa Carter, Jeffrey Reedy and Adam South; and his brothers, Robert Douglas Carpenter (Debra) and William D. Carpenter (Sharon). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
