He was predeceased by: his parents, Lola Brooks (Bailey) and Edward Brooks; his wife Delores Brooks (Garrison); and his brothers, Henry Brooks, Marvin Brooks, Benny Brooks, Alvin Brooks and Zendel Brooks.
He is survived by: his children, Marie Brooks (Mitch Planck), Ed Brooks Jr., Art Brooks (Becky) and Paul Brooks; his grandchildren, Megan Brooks-Planck, Ezra Brooks-Planck, Annmarie Brooks, Hannahleah Brooks and Rowan Brooks; and his siblings, Gene Brooks (Junnie), Olene Creech (Larry) and Wayne Brooks (Patricia).
