He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

“Ken was such a very dear friend. So wise and kind, thoughtful and generous. He was a godsend for us when Mark's dad, Homey, was languishing. We will never forget that. I loved spending time with Ken, whether in Ohio, Palau, Hawaii, or Cozumel--he was simply the best! I will miss our regular visits over meals when in town, especially at Luigi's. And I will miss how much he enjoyed ice cream! I will really miss Ken's smart sense of humor. And I know he will miss Traudel and his grandkids.”
