She was predeceased by: her parents, Sherman Robert Parker and Angela Irene [Coker] Parker; and her son Eugene Michael Coates. She is survived by: her children, Sandra [Coates] Ashmore and Robert Coates; and her grandchildren, Rico George, Brianna [Gibb] Seekford, Daja Hansel-Coates, Brittany Coates, Mikayla Crapps-Coates, Valerie Coates and Maryisa Crapps Coates. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
